Hairstyles at the BAFTAs 2013

The British weather may have been terrible at last night’s BAFTA awards but the BAFTAs 2013 hairstyles were not!

We guessed that Anne Hathaway’s amazing performance as Fantine in Les Miserables would lead to an award and we were not wrong. And, Anne Hathaway’s short pixie-crop hairstyle has seen a big rise in popularity since the film’s trailer hit our screens with her micro fringe also a big hit for 2013 hair trends.

Even though her micro-fringe has had time to grow a little, Anne Hathaway’s BAFTAs hairstyle is very popular when it comes to hair style requests from our clients.

Ballerina buns and up-dos continued to dominate 2013 hair trends at the BAFTAs. Amy Adams wore her lovely strawberry blonde hair high in this big ballet bun.

Her hairstyle was perfect for the bad weather as it meant Amy’s naturally wavy locks didn’t become unravelled in the rain and sleet.

Paloma Faith may be as nutty as a fruit cake but we love how she carried off this fantastic avant garde hair-up.

We wonder if any of our hair stylists will be recreating Paloma Faith’s 2013 BAFTAs hairstyle this month!?

Other notable 2013 BAFTAs hairstyleson the red carpet were Sarah Jessica Parker – once again (once too often?) displaying her trademark Ombre hair colour.  The biggest change though was the UK’s leading Lady of Ombre Caroline Flack – her famous two-tone colour has gone and it’s on-trend brunette for Caroline.  We don’t’ think that will last long on the TV personality who is best known for her wild-side.  We expect a more dramatic hair colour from Caroline in the coming weeks.

Pastel hair colours were once again a big hit in 2013 and Dame Helen Mirren’s BAFTA hair was a beautiful milky pastel pink?  Pink Hair on an older lady? Absolutely a winner in our eyes!

Jessica Chastain from Zero Dark Thirty shows just how to wear a delicious strawberry blonde hair colour in glamorous loose waves.

Beards (for the men) seemed to be the male hair trend for the evening with George Clooney and Ben Affleck both opting for some fuzzy facial hair.
