Sylvia arrived at Bliss Hair Salons 8 years ago when salon owner Nick Tedd asked the team to find a ‘remarkable receptionist.’
Nick recalls: “I think the words I used to the HR team were ‘Find me a friendly, well-groomed pub landlady type who has run her own business, is able to communicate with all types of people, is stylish, has seen it all & has young adults of her own so won’t take any nonsense.’
“Be careful what you wish for… Thankfully in my case, I got Sylvia.”
Originally a hairdresser, she brings over 35 years’ hairdressing and business experience to her role. She has qualifications in customer service, team leadership and management.
A mother & grandmother, Sylvia also brings a unique, down to earth presence to all the branches as part of the engine house that runs Bliss.
Extremely loyal and hardworking, Sylvia works closely with Nick & the entire team to meet the Bliss ethos & objectives.
Nick adds: “I don’t know where she gets her energy from but I am sure she must sleep well at night. Having seen it all during her varied hairdressing career, we cannot imagine the salons without her. Sylvia helps create a great experience for all our clients & seems to have eyes in the back of her head!“
