The song's message resonated deeply with Natasha, symbolising the importance of embracing one's true self and unique qualities. "I am proud of myself for working hard to receive this award," Natasha beamed.

Natasha's journey in the hair industry is a testament to her unwavering passion. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a hairdresser. "When I had my hair done for the first time, I realised I would like to do this as a career," Natasha revealed. A pivotal moment came when Bliss salon owner, Nick Tedd, who shares Natasha's experience with hearing loss, visited her school and shared his own journey. This connection ignited Natasha's determination even further. "I managed to contact Nick about an apprenticeship at Bliss, and I’ve been here ever since. I am now fully qualified & am a stylist with my own clients - it’s been fantastic!"

Natasha's journey wasn't without hurdles, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when masks posed communication barriers. Natasha revealed, "The most challenging part of my apprenticeship was during Covid time when everyone was wearing masks." Determined not to falter, she persevered by seeking clarity whenever unsure and effectively communicating with clients. The eventual return to mask-less interactions was a welcome change that enhanced Natasha's communication experience.
Defining Success and Pushing Boundaries
For Natasha, success as a learner is deeply intertwined with acknowledgment and validation from her tutors. Bliss Hair Salon's culture of feedback and support played a crucial role in her growth. "I never stop learning as hairdressing is part of the fashion industry; it is always changing," Natasha emphasised. Natasha's impact extends beyond the salon floor. She shared her experiences with the deaf community, organised workshops, and collaborated with organisations such as Deaf-innately Women. She organised a workshop focusing on hair care and styling for deaf and hard of hearing women, addressing their unique challenges and providing solutions. This initiative, born from Natasha's empathy and determination, also helped raise awareness within the salon and foster a more inclusive environment.
