Bliss are FINALISTS

The British Hairdressing Business Awards recognises that there’s more the hairdressing industry than creating show-stopping hair. These awards are dedicated to those often unsung hairdressing superstars behind the scenes.

2015-finalist

Nick Tedd from Bliss has just been named a finalist in the British Hairdressing Awards – Training category for 2015.

Why did you enter the British Hairdressing Business Awards?

11062361_10154128546585620_80799927217686325_nI spend the majority of my time working on my business rather than in it. These awards are the most paramount form of recognition for people like me who primarily work on the business side. I feel our education and training underpins my company. I have the tools, the experience and the environment to be able to nurture talent, provide career opportunities and guarantee the future success of Bliss. I wanted to share this with the hairdressing industry and show what we achieve, both publicly and behind the scenes, as this mainly goes unnoticed.

What is the value of entering the British Hairdressing Business Awards?

unnamedBliss and I value these awards enormously. Collating the criteria of requirements for my entry allowed me to check out where myself and my team are, while acknowledging what we have all achieved. Being a finalist is a great achievement for any company and increases awareness of the Bliss brand and the service we provide. The awards are a great way to boost team camaraderie and morale and a chance for me to reward my people for their commitment to the Bliss brand.

How does it feel to be recognised as a finalist?

unnamed (1)I am delighted and honoured to be a finalist in the Training Category because training has always been the lifeblood of Bliss. By ensuring we provide an outstanding training experience for all our apprentices and team, we are able to nurture talent, provide career opportunities and guarantee the future success of Bliss. To make this happen I have a fantastic team of people who share their knowledge and skills. They share my company vision, mission and values and provide a substantial commitment to provide excellence for our training policy.

What has being nominated a finalist done for Bliss as a business?

It’s a great feeling to be recognised as one of the best training salons in the country – the other nominees are all from salons and companies I really admire. My team now understand that what we do is special. We want to push even higher now and we are going to shout about our success – this also lets aspiring young hairdressers know just how a career in hairdressing is a genuine career opportunity.
