Nick

Nick – Owner
An award-winning hairdresser with over 40 years’ experience, Bliss Salon Group Owner Nick now spends his time working on the business behind the scenes.
Nick meets weekly with each member of the senior team who run the salons for him – the Bliss Angels, who share & drive forward the vision, values & mission for the company.
A teacher and assessor, he has enjoyed the opportunity to travel extensively as a session artist hairdresser on photo shoots, film and TV in many exciting locations all over the world.
After spending an inspiring time living and working in London, Nick returned to his East Midlands roots. During his career he has opened five salons, leading to the three branches of Bliss Hair in Nottingham and Loughborough.
He continues to take inspiration from travel, but especially from the capital and all it has to offer in culture, arts, fashion and music.
Nick is really proud of the fact that he and Bliss have contributed to the careers of some amazing hairdressers who started out on the Bliss training programme, but he is especially proud of the current members of the Bliss Family, who continue to keep him motivated & inspired.
“I have learnt that in order to grow & develop, it’s essential I surround myself with passionate, like-minded people,”says Nick. “Although everyone is an individual, we all share a real passion for our craft. It’s important team members have a positive attitude first – if that is not there, it just isn’t going to work.”
Nick has always thought that hairdressing is an overlooked art form and gained a degree from Nottingham Trent University in Fine Art Practice. As a mixed media artist, he fuses his role at Bliss by producing, exhibiting and selling work that concerns visual narratives and personal storytelling, a lot of which turns out to be autobiographical.
Nick currently has several pieces on display in public spaces & exhibitions as well as on the walls of his three salons.
