Why Finding The Right Hairdresser Is Important – Bliss Hair Salons in Loughborough & Nottingham
They say a woman will never leave her hairdresser once she finds the perfect stylist who understands her hair.
That’s certainly the case for Rachael Davies who has followed Bliss Hair owner Nick Tedd from Loughborough to London and back again for more than 30 years!
Rachael celebrated a ‘significant’ birthday recently and was delighted when Nick agreed to style her hair for a celebratory luncheon in London.
Nick owns and runs three Bliss Hair Salons in Loughborough and Nottingham so rarely cuts hair these days, but was proud to bring out the scissors once more for Rachael.
He said: “I started doing Rachael’s hair in 1985 and she still comes to Bliss Hair today. Over the years, she has followed me to every salon I’ve ever worked in or owned, even making the journey from Loughborough to London’s West End for her hair appointment.
“Rachael recently enjoyed a special birthday celebration so it was my pleasure to treat her to a cut & blow dry. She looks fabulous and unchanged after all these years and I am proud to call her my client and friend.”
The two first met 32 years ago when Nick was a newly qualified graduate stylist at Fydella in Loughborough. Three years later and Nick moved to London where he worked in an impressive central London salon, one of over 100 hairdressers based at Selfridges’ iconic flagship store.
Nick recalls: “It was a huge contrast to Loughborough but, because I used to do all the art students hair from Loughborough University, I had an edge. I soon gained a big clientele and worked with celebrities, models and international clients. It was a great experience that opened up my eyes to fashion and club culture – I had a blast!”
Among Nick’s regular clientele was Rachael who was a frequent visitor to London. She says: “I have wavy hair and wanted it to look better but couldn’t find a hairdresser who could do it as I wanted. A friend told me about Nick and he just ‘got it’. He worked his magic on my hair and I’ve been visiting him and his team ever since!”
Since 1990 Nick has divided his time between London and the East Midlands where he now owns three salons – Bliss Hairdressing in Biggin Street, Loughborough, Sister Bliss in Old Ashby Road, Loughborough and Bliss Hairdressing on Mansfield Road, Sherwood.
Rachael says: “I now trust lots of the Bliss team members to help me with my hair. You always feel welcome and they bend over backwards to help you out.”
